WAXHAW, N.C.-Kenneth Alan Remer, 69, of Waxhaw, N.C., formerly of Ackley, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, at his home. Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 14 at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church at Colfax, with burial in the church cemetery.

Kenneth was born Jan. 19, 1932, in Davenport, to Arthur and Lillian Trendel Remer. On June 21, 1957, he married Jean DeNeui at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, rural Holland. She died May 12, 1979, in Waterloo. He served as pastor of the West Friesland Presbyterian Church, rural Ackley, for many years and moved to Waxhaw, where he was director of public relations at JAARS.

He is survived by a son, Timothy and wife, Pamala, of Cottage Grove, Minn.; a daughter, Beth McCracken and husband, Sheldon, of Chesapeake, Va.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn Paulsen and husband, Robert, of DeWitt. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home of Grundy Center, was in charge of arrangements.
