APLINGTON-Josephine "Jo" Stukenberg, 85, of Aplington, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, in her home. Funeral services were Saturday, May 19, at the Aplington Baptist Church with Rev. Marlin Mohrman officiating. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Aplington.

Jo was born May 23, 1915, to David and Jennie Reiter Anderson in Dike. She graduated from Dike High School in 1933. On Sept. 11, 1935, she married Earl "Bud" Stukenberg at Nevada. They farmed for 43 years in the Parkersburg-Aplington area where they raised three children. Since the death of her husband, Jo has managed the farm rental and rental homes. She was a member of the Aplington Baptist Church and enjoyed home decorating, cards, board games, reading, sewing, traveling, church involvement and family activities.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth and her husband G.G. Diers, of Cedar Rapids, Jana an her husband Don Hegg of Billings, Mont.; a son David and his wife, Ginger, of Parkersburg; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Preceding her in death were her husband, Bud; a granddaughter, Margo Hegg; her parents; a brother, Frank Anderson; a sister Ethel Abkes; and an infant sister.

Schwartz Funeral Home of Parkersburg, was in charge of arrangements.
