ELDORA-Verena L. Huehn, 93, of Eldora, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at the Eldora Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Eldora, with private interment at the Eldora Cemetery. Pastor Anne Lippincott will officiate.

Verena was born July 12, 1907, in Eldora, to Gustav and Mary Wiesner Huehn. She graduated from Steamboat Rock High School in 1925 and attended Iowa State University at Ames. She worked for the Donnelly Company in Nevada, and was employed by Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, Wash., during World War II. After the war she was employed by the National Education Association in Washington D.C. until retiring in 1972. She was a member of the Eldora Methodist Church, serving on various women's groups; a member of the Hardin County Historical Society; and the National Education Association.

She is survived by a sister, Tolleta Licht of Spokane, Wash., and was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kermith Huehn; and three sisters, Selma Taylor, Arlene Neubauer, and Leila Huehn.

Creps-Abels Funeral Home of Eldora is in charge of arrangements.
