IOWA FALLS—Virgil Wesley Jaques, 77, of Iowa Falls, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at Heritage Care Center following a long illness. Family graveside services will be held at a later date. The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa assisted with arrangements.

Survivors include his wife Patsy; daughter LeeAnn (Ed) Thomas of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren, Evie and Eddie Thomas; nephew George (Cathy) Jaques of Mount Pleasant; and niece Sharon (Greg) Woods of Moberly, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Marlyn.

Virgil was born June 22, 1930, in Iowa Falls to Wesley and Greta Boyington Jaques. He married Patsy Murphy on April 8, 1955, in Iowa Falls. He served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Virgil was a member of the Iowa Falls VFW. He was involved in real estate and had also been a merchant marine captain in Naples, Fla.
