IOWA FALLS—Wanda S. Chaplin, 74, of Iowa Falls, died Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls, with burial in Northlawn Memory Gardens. Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls is in charge of the arrangements.

Wanda Sophia Chaplin was born on May 7, 1933, in Iowa Falls, the daughter of Henry and Mae (Stevens) Schade. She attended Iowa Falls schools. Wanda was united in marriage to Keith Chaplin on Feb. 14, 1950, in Iowa Falls. She had retired from being a nurses aide at the hospital and nursing homes. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary and the East Side Ladies.

Wanda is survived by her two sons, Felton Chaplin and his wife, Del Marie of Iowa Falls, and Craig Chaplin of Iowa Falls; a daughter, Kimberly Mann and her husband, Randall of Mason City; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many special people who called her “Grandma”; a sister, Marie Berges of Washington, Mo.; and many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; a daughter, June Garwick; a brother, Steven Schade; and a brother-in-law, Berkley Berges.
