April 29, 1927-February 18, 2008

IOWA FALLS—Jane B. Klein, 80, of Iowa Falls, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, rural Geneva, with the Rev. Phil Milam officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, rural Geneva. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Linn’s Funeral Home in Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o 1413 College Ave., Iowa Falls, IA 50126. The Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Betty Jane Bailey was born April 29, 1927, at Iowa Falls, the daughter of Earl Orin and Tura Elizabeth (Betty) (Cordle) Bailey. She attended and graduated from the Iowa Falls Community Schools with the class of 1945. On Nov. 18, 1945, Jane was united in marriage to Herbert Wray Klein at First Christian Church, Iowa Falls. To this union three children were born: Jim, Jack and Becky. Jane was employed as a telephone operator and phone center representative for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co., Iowa Falls. She was a member of the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, the St. Peter’s Women’s Fellowship, and had served on the Union Cemetery Board of Directors. She was also a member of the Iowa Falls Business and Professional Women and Telephone Pioneers. Jane enjoyed being a mentor at Rock Run Elementary School, Iowa Falls.

Jane B. Klein is survived by her children: Jim Klein of Jewell, Jack Klein of Peru, and Becky (Bob) Funk of Altoona; seven grandchildren: Staci (Jason) Thompson, Steffani (Stephen) Rash, Shannon (Corey) Miller, Kristina (David) Huntoon, Jindi (Jason) Faircloth, Elizabeth (fiancé Gary Messer) Funk, and Bridget Funk; great grandchildren: Trevor and Tanna Thompson, Connor Rash, Samantha and Tanner Garner, Chance, Hunter and Kaylee Faircloth, and Jaelyn Messer; one sister: Judy (Dale) Everman; two step-sisters: Connie Wubbena and Sandy (Rick) Hoenig; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Earl O. and Betty Bailey; her husband: Herbert W. Klein; and one sister: JoAnn Juhl.
