Mary Edna Cessford
October 11, 1917- December 15, 2007

IOWA FALLS—Mary Edna Cessford, 90, of Iowa Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at the Scenic Manor Nursing Home in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with burial in the Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls.

Mary Edna Cessford was born Oct. 11, 1917, at Ellsworth, the daughter of Edgar and Bessie Granby Ward. She received her education in the local schools. She married William Cessford on Nov. 2, 1939, in Nevada. Mary was a homemaker and a waitress; she had worked at A&W, Red Rooster and Ellsworth Community College. Mary was a member of First United Methodist Church in Iowa Falls.

Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Tripp and special friend Richard Gehrke, and Cathy Ites and husband Dean, all of Alden; step-son, Earl Cessford and wife Doris of Reno, Nev.; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Ruth Rollene of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Norma Lake of Webster City, Freda Hutzel and husband Dick of LeGrand, Shirley Hansen and husband Ike of Council Bluffs and Joan Pomeroy of Iowa Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son in infancy, three sisters, two brothers, two grandchildren and one great-grandson.
