December 23, 1924- December 19, 2007

IOWA FALLS—Lorna C. Hansen, 83, of DuPont, Wash., formerly of Iowa Falls, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Tacoma, Wash. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Iowa Falls, with Pastor Kenneth Krueger officiating. A time of visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Linn’s Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer’s Association. Linn’s Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Lorna Caroline Fahrmann was born on Dec. 23, 1924, in Latimer. She was the daughter of Dick Freiderich and Emma Sophia (Plagge) Fahrmann. She attended Lutheran Parochial School of Latimer through eighth grade and then Latimer High School, graduating with the class of 1942. She also attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City.

On Oct. 12, 1947, she was united in marriage to Lee Franklin Hansen at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Latimer. To this union three children were born: Marlyn, Jolene and Dorene. They farmed northeast of Iowa Falls for 48 years, retiring in 1995. Lorna was a bookkeeper for the Iowa Falls Cooperative Elevator for 18 years. She was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls, participating in such activities as the Quilters Group and preparing and serving meals for various functions at the church. She and her husband also enjoyed doing Meals On Wheels for several years.

Lorna C. Hansen is survived by her husband: Lee Hansen of DuPont, Wash.; her children: Marlyn Hansen and fiancée Maureen Crowell of Wrightwood, Calif., Jolene (Chuck) Laguna of Olympia, Wash., and Dorene (Michael) Kelly of Hastings, Minn.; grandchildren: Jon (Sami Fournier) Hansen of Bend, Ore., Jenny Miescher of San Bernardino, Calif., Dawn (Greg) Douglas of Othello, Wash., Danetta (Scott) Nelson of Puyallup, Wash., Jessica (Nick Lerner) Miescher of Lawrence, Kan., Sara Hansen of Santa Rosa Island, Calif., Dana Laguna of Olympia, Wash., Brian Hansen of San Diego, Calif., and Patrick Kelly of Hastings, Minn.; great-grandchildren: Nicole and Madisen Douglas of Othello, Wash., Alicia Laguna of Germany, Eli Nelson of Puyallup, Wash., and two more due this spring; and sister: Marlys (James) (Fahrmann) Picht of Iowa Falls.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother, Lawrence Fahrmann.
