A Young Grandmother
~
Iowa Falls, Oct. 5. – Mrs. James P. Carleton, wife of Ex-Postmaster Carleton, of this city, claims the proud distinction of being the youngest grandmother in the northwest. At the tender age of eleven years Mrs. Carleton was wooed and wed a schoolmate and to this youthful union was born a daughter that a couple of years ago in turn became a mother, the tendency for youthful marriages having seemed to follow in the family. The grandchild of Mrs. Carelton resided in St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. Carelton became a grandmother at the age of twenty-nine and wears the honor gracefully, as her many friends in the city testify. Mr. and Mrs. Carleton recently moved to St. Paul.
