Mrs. Fred Missal dies at Garner; Services Thursday
Garner - Mrs. Fred (Lydia L.) Missal, 64, died at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt Tuesday morning after suffering heart attacks.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Britt. The Rev. Paul W. Adix will officiate. Burial will be Evergreen Cemetery in Britt with Bohn Funeral Home, Garner, in charge of arrangements. The body will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Thursday.
Born Feb. 19, 1901, in Wesley, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Fritz. She attended school in Titonka and was organist many years at the Good Hope Lutheran Church in Titonka.
Dec. 17, 1919, she was married to Fred C. Missal at Titonka. They live on a farm in North Ell Township until 1933 when they moved to Garner.
Mrs. Missal was active in the American Lutheran Church Women and was a member of the choir at the First Lutheran Church in Britt from 1920 until 1962. She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary of the Gifford Olson Post of Garner.
Surviving are her husband, a son, Donald, Clarion; a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Dorothy) Kloock, Brooklyn, Iowa; five grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Martha Boyken, Titonka. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Edward Fritz.
