Retired Farmer Dies at Britt; Rites Friday

Britt - Louis Tegtmeyer, 82, retired farmer of the Britt area, died Tuesday. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church here preceded by a prayer service at the Boughton Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul W. Adix officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

The son of Carl and Geredina Etchen Tegtmeyer, he was born Jan. 31, 1876, at Oldenburg, Germany. He came to this country with his parents when 14. He was married Oct. 20, 1907, to Marie Brunsen at Ackley. They farmed in this vicinity until 1946 when they retired and moved to Anchorage, Alaska. They lived there three years and then moved back to Britt.

Survivors are his wife, one son, Lewis, near Wesley; five daughters, Mrs. Louise Engel, Britt; Mrs. John (Augusta) Wibben, Racine, Minn.; Mrs. Clarence (Emma) Gorman, Britt; Mrs. Richard (Mary) Granum, Anchorage, Alaska; Mrs. Bruce (Evelyn) Dolphin, Ft. Collins, Colo.; 21 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; one brother, Carl, Clear Lake; one sister, Mrs. George Arends, Covina, Calif.
