Roy E. Hansen, Hayfield, Dies; Rites Incomplete

Hayfield - Roy E. Hanson, 64, died early Wednesday at his home following an illness of five years from a heart condition.

Funeral services are incomplete at the Boughton Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerhard Hjelmaas, pastor of the Hayfield Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Crystal Cemetery at Crystal Lake.

Mr. Hanson was born June 18, 1892, in Kansas, the son of Peter and Julia Syr Hanson. He moved to the Crystal Lake vicinity when he was nine. On Dec. 19, 1917, he was married to Clara Olson. They farmed in the Crystal Lake area until five years ago.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Kenneth and Wallace, both of Salem, Ore; five daughters, Mrs. Milton (Dorothy) Geddes, Salem; Mrs. Victor (Marjorie) Gustafson, Shafer, Minn.; Mrs. Dell (Wanda) Book, Mrs. Richard (Arlys) Christensen and Mrs. Harlan (Karen) Blanchen, all of Forest City; 16 grandchildren and a sister, Esther Christensen, Forest City.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Joe Lameroux.
