Minnie Fritze

Minnie S. Fritze, 92, of 460 Wales Street, died Friday at the Iowa City Extended Care Center after a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Beckman Butherus Funeral Home. Family services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Kanawha. Burial will be in Kanawha. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 6 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Congregational Church.

Mrs. Fritze was born June 5, 1877, in Bremer County, daughter of Robert and Mary Kelso Lucas. She moved from Bremer County to Hancock County with her parents as an infant.

She married Henry Fritze on March 3, 1897, in Hancock County. They moved to Wright County after their marriage and lived there until 1938. They then moved to Iowa City and she spent the remainder of her life here.

She was a member of the Iowa City Women's Club, the Congregational Church, and Women's Fellowship of the church.

Surviving are three daughters, Hazel Fritze of Iowa City, Mrs. Winifred Tanberg of Iowa City, and Mrs. Robert Carlson of Minneapolis; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. H. H. Stewart of Kanawha, Mrs. P. J. Deegan of Big Timber, Mont., and Mrs. Henry Gramley of Phoenix, Ariz. Her husband, one daughter, two brothers, and a sister died earlier.
