Alfred F. Driste

Britt - Funeral services for Alfred F. Driste, 62, will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Warren Paige officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Driste, a retired businessman and former mayor of Britt, died Friday at a Rochester, Minn., Hospital.

He was born Feb. 2, 1904, at Litchfield, Minn., a son of O. N. and Ida Driste. He was graduated from Litchfield High School and attended the University of Minnesota. He came to Britt in 1936 and started the Ben Franklin Variety Store, which he operated until 1964, when he retired. He served on the city council for eight years.

He was married to Norma Schaper Jan. 22, 1939, at Britt.

He is survived by his wife; three sisters, Mrs. Vernon Flanders, Panesville, Minn.; Matilda Harris, Litchfield, and Mrs. George Taylor, St. Cloud, Minn.; three brothers, W. J., Grove City, Minn.; Harvey and Karl, Minneapolis.

The Grupe Funeral Home is in charge.
