Businessman at Britt Dies; Rites Incomplete

Britt - Robert J. Dressler, 90, retired businessman here, died last Saturday at Anaheim, Calif. Funeral services are incomplete at the Boughton Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul W. Adix, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, will be in charge.

Mr. Dressler was born Sept. 10, 1866, at Dresden, Germany, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Dressler. He was married to Marie Lena Lescha at Dresden on March 31, 1889. He came to the United States and settled at Vail where he operated a shoe shop. In 1899 he came to Renwick and on Jan. 2, 1900, he moved to Britt, where he operated the Dressler Shoe Shop for almost 50 years. He was a woodcarver and had been a member of Redman Lodge.

Mrs. Dressler died Dec. 15, 1934.

Survivors include two sons, Albert (Dutch) Dressler, Anaheim, and Harold (Heinie) Dressler, Phoenix, Ariz., and two daughters, Mrs. John (Elsie) Burns, Des Moines, and Mrs. Walter (Ella) Petrie, Bellflower, Calif.; six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Peterson, St. Paul, and Martha Barnholt, Eagle Grove, and a brother, Fred, Milwaukee.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Britt.
