Young Titonka Woman Claimed By Death At Mason City Hospital

Residents of Titonka and surrounding community were shocked Saturday morning when the news went forth that Mrs. Albert Dirksen, 22 years of age and a bride of only two months, had passed away at the Park Hospital in Mason City, following a brief illness.

Mrs. Dirksen, whose name before marriage was Emma Schutjer, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Schutjer of Titonka. She was born Jan. 27, 1907 at Titonka. She was graduated from Titonka high school in 1926 and taught school at Titonka for two years. She was married April 23, 1929 to Albert Dirksen at Wesley and the couple moved to Mason City where Mr. Dirksen was employed with H. A. Brown, contractor.

Surviving with the husband are her parents, five brothers, Jerry, Clarence, William, George, Raymond and three sisters, Mrs. George Fox, Mrs. *** Wubben and Beulah Dirksen.

Funeral services were held in the St. Joseph's Catholic church at Wesley, Tuesday. The Rev Father De***uth of this city was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Woden Cemetery.
