Mother of 11 Children is Buried at Kanawha

Kanawha - Funeral services were held at the Kanawha Lutheran church Monday afternoon for Mrs. Thomas Carlson, 48, who died at the Hampton Lutheran hospital Saturday morning.

Mrs. Carlson was a daughter of George and Mary Johnson and was born in East Liberty township, Wright county, Iowa, on Sept. 20, 1894. She received her education in the public school of the community and her Christian training in the church. On Sept. 20, 1912, she was married to Thomas Carlson and they established their home in Eagle Grove. Later they moved to a farm near Renwick and lived in that community until 1925 when they moved to a farm near Denhart. They have been engaged in farming for the past seven years three and a half miles northwest of Kanawha.

Surviving Mrs. Carlson are her husband and 11 children, Clifford, who is in overseas service; Thomas in the army; Donald and George in the navy; Leonard, Harold, Floyd, Mildred, Clarence and Margaret at home; and Mrs. Gaylord Minor of Goldfield; a grandson, Howard Minor; and two sisters, Mrs. Hans Anderson, Felton, Minn., and Mrs. Mattie Davis of Humboldt.

The Rev. M. N. Peterson was in charge of the funeral services, and burial was in the Kanawha cemetery.
