ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE OF SHOTGUN BRINGS DEATH TO BRITT MAN
MARTIN LICHMAN, BRITT BEET WEEDER, DIED FEW HOURS AFTER ACCIDENT
Martin Lichman. 25, was killed at his home near Britt, Sunday evening by the accidental discharged of a shotgun.
Lichman was killed as he was entering the car occupied by his wife and small child. The shotgun was leading against the seat and started to fall. In an attempt to grasp hold of it, it was discharged, the shot entering his left side, missing the heart, but completely severing a rib. He passed away about nine thirty the same evening after two or three hours of intense suffering.
It will be recalled that his father, Peter Lichmman, figured in an automobile accident near Britt on July 5 in which his wife was killed and law suits, involving several thousand of dollars, are now pending in the Kossuth county court as a result.
Funeral services where held from St. Patrick's Catholic church at Britt Tuesday morning with the Rev. Father Quirin in charge.
