FUNERAL FOR MOTHER OF MRS. OSCAR SWANSON HELD THURSDAY P.M.

MRS. LENA SWENSON DAHLGREN PASSED AWAY AUGUST 19 AFTER LINGERING ILLNESS

Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Swenson Dahlgren were held Thursday afternoon in the yard of the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Swanson near Klemme, where she has been making her home.

Lena Swenson Dahlgren was born the 10th day of November, 1844, at Asskal Dalslan, Sweden, and passed away in the home of her daughter, Monday morning, August 19, 1929 at the age of 84 years, nine months and nine days.

About a year ago Mrs. Dahlgren had a severe attack of the flu from which disease she never fully recovered. She has been confined to her bed since Christmas due largely to this sickness which she sustained in the earlier part of the year. She was baptized in childhood and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

In 1863 she was united in marriage to Magnus Dahlgren, who served his country all his life as a soldier. Those remaining are Mrs. Christina Stenwall, Gustaf, Lars, Carl, all of Norway; Andrew and Hilma Thorlund of Chicago and Mrs. Oscar Swanson of Klemme. There also remain thirty seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, besides a host of relatives and friends.

Some time after their marriage they moved to Rolanda. Dalslau and there joined the Mission church and remained members for many years. Her husband passed away in 1886. The wife and family remained on the farm until 1903 when they immigrated to the United States, making their home for a time with a son and brother in Chicago. In 1916 they came to Klemme and have since been inmates of her daughter's home.

Mrs. Dahlgren was a true christian mother, loved and honored by her family and friends.
