William M. Schuver
1902-1987

Services for William M. Schuver, 85, Britt, who died October 12, 1987, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Cherokee Village, AR., were held Saturday, Oct. 17, 1:30 p.m., at the Ewing Funeral Home in Britt with Rev. J. Larry Vallery officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Judy Oudekerk and soloist, Doris Leuwerke.

Casket bearers were Larry Schuver, Chad Schuver, Kevin Schuver, Eddie Schuver, Kent Schuver and Shane Schuver.

Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Britt with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

William Morris Schuver was born June 1, 1902, at Canby, MN and received his education at Canby.

On August 10, 1924, he was united in marriage with Ruth Johnson in Waterloo. The couple farmed in the Kanawha and Britt area for ten years, then moved to Minnesota for a short time. They returned to Britt where they owned and operated the Schuver Fur Company for many years. In 1970, they retired and moved to Cherokee Village, AR.

William was a member of the United Methodist Church of Cherokee Village, a former member of the Lions Club in Britt and loved, hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, in 1982.

William is survived by a daughter, Ruby and her husband, Hans Sluik of Monrovia, CA; two sons, Billy and his wife Grace of Kanawha, and Kay and his wife Norma of LaPorte, MN; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; and a sister in law, Allis Walske of Cherokee Village, AR.
