Rufus Schott succumbs to long illness

BRITT - Rufus Albert Schott, 61, died Wednesday night at a Mason City hospital. He had been ill with multiple sclerosis five years. Born Dec. 5, 1898, at Lawler, he was the son of Paul and Antonia Guetzlaff Schott.

Jan. 1, 1930, he was married to Alice Ziegler of Corwith, They farmed near Miller. Surviving are his wife, two children, Mrs. Clarence (Alean) Brees, Concord, Calif,; Paul, Garner; two grandsons, three brothers, The Rev. N. A. Schott, Deboise, Ind.; E. P. Schott, LaJunta, Colo.; H. C. Schott, Riverside, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Otto (Renatta) Albrecht, New Hampton.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church here, preceded by a prayer service at the Boughton Funeral Home, Britt. The Rev. Paul W. Adix will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
