Herman Carl Meyer

KLEMME: Services for longtime Klemme area farmer Herman Carl Meyer, 76, who died Saturday (Sept. 15, 1984) at a Mason City hospital, will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Klemme.

The Rev. Herbert Shafer will officiate. Burial will be in Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. today at Tenold Funeral Home in Klemme.

He was born Sept. 6, 1908 at Elkader. He attended school in Elkader and worked on farms in the Elkader area until 1930 when he came to the Klemme area.

He and his brother worked as farm laborers in the Klemme area.

He married Ethel Schoenwetter on March 21, 1933 in Galena, Ill. They farmed in the Klemme area.

Mr. Meyer was a member of the United Methodist Church in Klemme. For the last 14 years; they spent their winters in Brownsville, Texas.

Mr. Meyer is survived by his wife, Ethel of Klemme; two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Lorraine) Buckley of Forest City, and Mrs. Dennis (Jean) Hansen of Fort Rucker, Ala.; two sons, Alvin A., rural Garner, and Herman Richard of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Christine Hoth of Elkader and Mrs. Dail (Mary) Thein, Evansdale; three brothers, Joe of Corwith; Carl, St. Olaf, and Allen of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
