Corwith youth, 15, dies when tractor overturns
A 15 year old Corwith boy was killed Thanksgiving morning in a farm accident northwest of Stilson which in turn is located northwest of Corwith.
The boy was Edward Allan Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Johnson. He was a sophomore in the Corwith Wesley high school.
The youth lived with the Kenneth Prices on the farm where the accident occurred. He was driving a tractor at the time of the accident and the machine hit some plowed dirt and he turned too short. The tractor overturned, crushing him underneath.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist church in Corwith. Rev. Frank Considine will officiate and burial will be in the Corwith cemetery with the Boughton funeral home of Britt in charge of arrangements.
He was born Aug. 16, 1953 at Des Moines. His parents, one sister, Cynthia; three brothers, Terry, Todd and Theodore, all at home, and grandmother, Mrs. Sylva Izzard of Corwith, all survive.
