Plan Rites for Clarence Halverson

CLEAR LAKE - Clarence O. Halverson, 65, died Thursday afternoon at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ole Pederson, Route 3. He had been ill for several months.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Pilot Knob Lutheran Church with the Rev. William Ostroot, Fertile, officiating. Burial will be in the churchyard cemetery. Friends may call at Ward Funeral Home until Monday morning.

Clarence O. Halverson was born Aug. 20, 1893 in Ellington Township, Hancock County, the son of Ole and Carrie Halverson. He attended the schools in the vicinity and Waldorf College, Forest City. He was married May 1, 1913, to Anna Suby.

He farmed in the vicinity and worked as a farm implement salesman. He lived in the area all of his life except for four years, from 1952 to 1956, when he was in Wisconsin.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Arthur C., Mason City; LeRoy, Clear Lake, and Irving, Lake Geneva, Wis,; one brother, Lewis, St. Olaf; three sisters, Helen Solsa, Ventura; Mrs. Don Foley, Olathe, Colo., and Mrs. Pederson. Eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

Three sisters and his parents preceded him in death.
