Obituary

Eugene Gartin was born in New York state, June 27, 1851. From New York the family moved to Wisconsin, and from there to Iowa in 1869, settling west of Goodell. In 1900 they moved to Leland, where they lived until 1911, when they moved to Garner, where he has since made his home with his brother, Herbert. Mr. Gartin was in apparently good health when he suddenly passed away Friday evening at bedtime, when a bursting blood vessel caused a painless death. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. M. McConnell, pastor of the U. P. church, assisted by Rev. Granger of the German M. E. church and burial was made in Concord cemetery. The deceased was a man of quiet and unobtrusive character and highly esteemed. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother Herbert and wife and Brother Oscar and family of Belmond, besides his nephew, Henry
