Cora Clark, 83, dies following long illness

BRITT - Mrs. Cora M. Clark, 85, widow of George Clark, died Monday at a nursing home in Clear Lake. She had been in poor health five years.

Born June 21, 1874, at Oak Hill, Ill., she was the daughter of William and Sarah Schlinger Dawson. She was married to George Clark, Dec 19, 1896. They farmed in Illinois and then near Corwith. They retired in 1930. He died in 1941.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Mildred) Palmer, Clear Lake; Mrs. Marilla Hampe, Clear Lake; two sons, Arthur, Rockwell; Roy, Britt; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, three brothers, Dewey Dawson, Ohio; Charles Dawson, Farmington, Ill.; William Dawson, Abbington, Ill.; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Benton, Peoria, Ill,; Miss Daisy Dawson, Abbington, Ill.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Boughton Funeral Home, Britt. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery here.
