Mrs. Brickey Dies; Funeral to Be Friday
BRITT - Mrs. Ann E. Brickey, 87, died Tuesday night at the Good Samaritan Home, Mason City. She had been in ill health since suffering a stroke in 1950.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the United Brethren Evangelical Church in Stilson. A prayer service for the family will precede the church services at the Boughton Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Varce will officiate. Burial will be in the Corwith Cemetery.
Mrs. Brickey, the former Anna E. Guyer, was born in Brookville, Ill., on Oct. 6, 1869. She was the daughter of William and Bertha Guyer. She was married to George C. Brickey on May 10, 1890 at Garner.
They lived at Corwith where he was postmaster for many years and later moved to Stilson where he managed an elevator. Mrs. Brickey was a former member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Surviving are a son, Merle O. Brickey, Upper Sandusky, Ohio; two daughters, Gladys Scott, Britt, and Marjorie Kruse, Tipton; five grandchildren; eight [great] grandchildren; a brother, Jacob J. Guyer, Swea City.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1939, a brother, George Guyer, and four sisters, Addie Crane, Verona, Amanda and Kate Guyer.
