AGED RESIDENT OF KANAWHA DIES AFTER A LINGERING ILLNESS

BERNARD ABBAS PASSED AWAY SUNDAY AT THE RIPE OLD AGE OF 85 YEARS

Bernard Abbas died Sunday afternoon after a lingering illness. Mr. Abbas was born in Germany in the year 1844 and came to America in 1871 together with his wife and oldest daughter.

Four children were born after their arrival in the United States. Those surviving are Mrs. Henry Reuben of Twin Lake township, Mrs. Herman Seebeck of Erin township and George Abbas, the only son, who lives on the old home farm. One daughter died several years ago. He is also survived by his wife and a number of grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

Mr. Abbas was member of the German Reformed church of Kanawha and the funeral was held from that church this afternoon. Burial was to take place in the Kanawha cemetery.
