Mrs. Carl Olson dies Suddenly

Mrs. Carl M. (Emily Kristina) Olson, 75, died suddenly Sunday morning as she was entering Immanuel Lutheran Church. She had lived in Mason City 48 years and made her home at 439 23rd S.W.

Mrs. Olson was born Feb. 26, 1886, at Smaland, Sweden, daughter of Elof and Blanche Johnson. She attended school in Sweden and came to the United States with her parents when she was 17.

They settled in New York State and later moved to Rockford, Ill., then to Mason City in 1912. She was married to Carl M. Olson July 10, 1912, in Mason City. He preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1959, in Mason City.

Mrs. Olson was a charter member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Surviving are four daughters, Miss Edith Olson, Rockford, Ill,; Mrs. Earl (Hildur) Trulson, Britt; Miss Ebba Olson, San Francisco, and Mrs. M. R. (Genevieve) Allen, Duluth, Minn,; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Norman V. Ryding will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Britt. Friends may call at the McAuley Scanlan Peterson Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday.
