Britt farm mishap kills Hulling, 59

BRITT: A 59 year old farmer was killed in a freskish accident on his farm two miles south of here as he was repairing a hydraulic lift on a tractor.

Deputy Medical Examiner Dr. John Camp, Britt, said Wayne Hulling died of strangulation when the hydraulic lift dropped down and caught his neck between two bars.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Stilson United Brethren Church. The Rev. Forrest Lay will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with Grupe Funeral Home in charge.

The son of Byron and Susie Rachel Hulling, he was born Jan. 18, 1905, in Pontiac, Ill. The family came to Hancock County in 1914. He was married to Helen Treganza in March 1952. He had served at the Stilson Church and was a vice grand of the IOOF Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, three brothers, Fern and Claude, Britt; Floyd, Fort Dodge; two sisters, Mrs. Virgil Everett, Britt; Mrs. Leo Wilson, Paton, Iowa.
