Britt School bus driver dies suddenly

BRITT: Frank W. Gayken, 63, a Britt school bus driver, died of a sudden heart attack at his home Sunday afternoon. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church here, preceded by a prayer service at the Boughton Funeral Home. The Rev. Warren S. Paige will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.

Born Oct. 21, 1898, he was the son of George and Margaret B Gayken. He was married to Anna M. Russher, Dec. 19, 1919, at Sioux Falls. They had lived at Britt where he was a mechanic and truck driver. His wife died in 1949 and he had driven a school bus 10 years.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Newel (Verna) Brown, Britt; Mrs. Cecil (Blanche) Gill, Eugene, Ore.; Mrs. Christie (Viola) Peterson, Goodell; two sons, Harold and Lester, Britt; 22 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Herman (Gusta) Krull, Britt. He was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.
