Services for Clarence Attig, 77, Titonka, who died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1989, were held Friday, Oct. 6, 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Titonka with Rev. Kim Peterson and Rev. Trudy Peterson officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mrs. Steven Eden, who accompanied soloist, LeRoy Bruns, and the congregation. Ushers were Merle Rickless and Bernard Schmidt.

Casket bearers were Art Senne, James Brauhn, Eddie Attig, Russell Buss, Leroy Senne and Kenneth DeWaard.

Burial was at the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Titonka with Cataldo Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Clarence Howard Attig, the son of George and Anna (Staffaucher) Attig, was born January 9, 1912 on a farm near LuVerne. He attended the rural schools near LuVerne. At the age of 16, he moved north of Wesley with his family.

February 20, 1935, he married Anna Senne at Immanuel Lutheran Church, east of Titonka. They farmed south of Titonka for one year, and then in the Woden area, until they retired in 1976.

Clarence did custom grain hauling for five years after his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Attig of Woden; his daughter, Mrs. Joyce Goranson and her husband, Lester of Forest City; two granddaughters, Catherine Goranson and Roberta Goranson; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Richter and her husband, Leo of Titonka; and two brothers, Everett Attig and his wife, June of Titonka, and Eldon Attig and his wife, Lila of Titonka.

He was preceded in death by his infant grandson, Terry Goranson in 1962; his parents; and his brother, Melvin Attig.
