BRITT: Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Long, 60, of Bentonville, Ark., formerly of Britt, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Ewing Funeral Chapel, Britt. Mrs. Long died Friday (Sept. 6, 1985) at a Fayetteville, Ark., hospital.

The Rev. William Perkins, pastor of the Kanawha Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt.

She was born June 16, 1925 at Britt to Alden and Carrie (Hunsley) Thompson. The family moved to Crystal Lake where she graduated from Crystal Lake High School. She later attended the Iowa Teachers College at Cedar Falls.

She was married to Glenn Fisher in 1944 and they farmed in the Crystal Lake area. He died in 1956. She owned and operated a beauty salon in Britt for several years.

In 1969, she married Verle "Shorty" Long and they farmed in the Stilson area. In 1978 the couple moved to Bentonville, Ark., where they have lived since.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Bentonville, Ark. She was also a member of the Britt American Legion Auxiliary and the Ever Ready Club at Britt.

Visitation will be after 9 a.m. today at the funeral chapel.

Survivors include her husband, Verle "Shorty" Long, Bentonville, Ark.; one daughter, Mrs. Tony (Sherry) Johnson, Kanawha; one son, Larry Fisher, Longmont, Colo.; three brothers, Roland Thompson, Britt; Louis Thompson, Evansdale; and Donald Thompson, Fort Dodge; one sister in law, Alice Thompson, Chester; and five grandchildren.
