Services Thursday for Ida Lawhorn
Mrs. Ida M. Lawhorn, 94, passed away at Friendship Haven, Ft. Dodge, Monday evening, Oct. 21. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Garner. The Rev. C. Dana Boggie will officiate. Miss Linda Humphrey, Mrs. G.W. Templeton and Mrs. Chet Stille will sing “Beautiful Garden of Prayer” and “Beyond the Sunset,” accompanied by Mrs. C.D. Boggie.
Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery with Bohn Funeral Home in charge of services. Pallbearers will be Chet Stille, A.E. Rasmussen, Ben Reimer, Arthur Jass, Anton Pannkuk and Orville Johnston.
Born May 3, 1869, at Wayne, Wis., she was the daughter of Absolem and Martha Renshaw Kelly. She came to the Garner community with her parents in 1891.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ferd (Cora) Grell, Garner; one son, William, of Wilton Wis.; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great, grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1932; one son, Cloyd, one granddaughter; her parents; two brothers, James and Absolem, Jr. [sic], and one sister, Mrs. Peter (Amy) Gilbert.
