Held For Jacob Hess

Funeral services for Jacob John Hess who died on March 28, were held at the United Methodist Church in Klemme on March 31. Reverend Donald Campbell officiated at the services. Internment was at the Klemme Cemetery.

Jacob John Hess was born December 9, 1891 in Grim, Russia, the son of John J. and Katie Hess. He attended school in Russia and moved to the United States as a teenager.

After serving in World War I he returned to Chicago where he worked as a blacksmith.

On May 15, 1926, he was married to Esther Johnson in Chicago where they lived for two years. The couple then moved to the Klemme area where they farmed until he retired in 1946. After his retirement they moved into the town of Klemme.

Jacob was a former member of the V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Esther.
