Funeral Services
Held On Tuesday

Funeral services were held at U.M.C. at Garner, Tuesday, Nov. 1, for 45 year old Melvin Julius Anderson, former Belmond resident. Rev. Gale Hawhee officiated.

Melvin Anderson was born on September 4, 1932 at Dows. His parents were Algot K. and Elsie Marie Ingenson Anderson. He was married to Shirley Thompson on Oct. 3, 1953 at Eagle Grove. He was a veteran of the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the Combat Medical Badge, and United Nations Service Medal.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: his wife, Shirley of Garner; two sons, Mark and Eugene of Garner; four brothers, Sven of Clarion; Nels of Santa Cruz, Calif.; Everett of Dallas, Texas; and Eldon of Chesterton, Ind.

Burial was at the Klemme Cemetery at Klemme.

Casket bearers were Rick Anderson of Chesterton, Ind.; Curtis Blank of Garner; Gary Harty of Belmond; Gary Skiye of Belmond; Robert Randall of Garner; and Dennie Spieker of Garner.

Fulton Funeral Home was in charge of services.
