KLEMME — Funeral services are pending for Walter H. Lauden, 72, Klemme, who died Friday night at a Mason City hospital. The Johnston Funeral Home, Klemme, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lauden was born May 13, 1897, in Klemme. He farmed in the Klemme Goodell area until 1959 when he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Clara, Klemme; three daughters, Mrs. Rosie Gerdes, Klemme; Mrs. Wilma Lindsay. Mo.; and Mrs. Betty Cole, Tennessee; two brothers, Clarence Lauden, Watkins, Minn.; and Albin Lauden, Fort Dodge; and a sister, Mrs. Erwin Rosendahl, Ventura.

Funeral services for Walter Lauden, age 72, of Klemme were held at 2 p.m., Monday, January 5,1970, at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme. The Rev. Leroy Franz officiated with burial in the Klemme cemetery. The Johnston Funeral Home of Klemme was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Lauden died on Friday evening, January 2, at the Mercy Hospital in Mason City, where he had been a patient for the past week. He had been in poor health for some time.
Mr. Lauden was born at Klemme on May 13, 1897, the son of John and Alma Kemp Lauden. As a youth, he received an elementary education in the Klemme schools. On February 14, 1928, he was united in marriage to Clara Larson at Klemme, and together they lived and farmed in Hancock county for several years, near Goodell, Forest City and Klemme. Eleven years ago, they retired and moved into their home in Klemme.
Surviving are his wife, Clara and three daughters: Mrs. Rosie Gerdes of Klemme; Mrs. Wilma Lindsay in Missouri; and Mrs. Betty Cole, in Tennessee. Also surviving are two brothers and one sister; Clarence Lauden of Watkins, Minnesota; Albin Lauden of Fort Dodge; and Mrs. Erwin Rosendahl of Ventura, as well as seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one grandson, Robert Paul Lindsay.
Pallbearers selected were; Ewald Josten, A. S. LaDassor, Walter Rsendahl, John Eenhuis, Fred Wessels, and Alvin Schlichting.
Music for the services were provided by organist Patti Nuehring, and the quartet consisting of Milvern Barz, Mary Jane Barz, Ray Wille and Sharon Josten, singing "How Great Thou Art," and "Beyond the Sunset."
