Harry R. Gibbs

Klemme - Harry R. Gibbs, 80, died Tuesday evening at the Belmond Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Klemme. The Rev. Donald Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Klemme Cemetery with Willim-Andrew Funeral Home in charge.

Born July 31, 1892, in Ell Township of Hancock County, he was the son of Asa and Isabel Collins Gibbs. He was graduated from Klemme High School.

He was married to Esther Lenz in Klemme Jan. 28, 1914, and had farmed in the Klemme area. They retired in 1961 and moved to Klemme.

He was a trustee of Klemme United Methodist Church many years and served on the Klemme School Board.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Asa and Ronald Gibbs, both of Garner; two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Harriet) Bridgeford, Mason City; Miss Isabel Gibbs, Salem, Ore.; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a sister, Anna Gibbs, Klemme.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral Friday
for Harry Gibbs

Funeral services for Harry R. Gibbs, 80, of Klemme, who died at the Belmond Hospital last Tuesday were held Friday in the United Methodist church in Klemme. Rev. Donald Campbell officiated. Burial was in the Klemme cemetery with the Willim Andrew Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Born July 31, 1892, in Ell Township of Hancock County, he was the son of Asa and Isabelle Collins Gibbs. He attended school in Ell and Avery townships and graduated from the Klemme school. He farmed his entire life in the Klemme area.

On Jan. 28, 1914, Mr. Gibbs was united in marriage to Esther Lenz at her parents' home in Klemme. They retired in 1961 to their home in Klemme.

He was a member of the Klemme United Methodist church.

Survivors include his wife and four children: Asa of Garner; Mrs. Virgil (Harriet) Bridgeford of Mason City; Ronald of Garner; and Isabelle Gibbs of Salem, Ore.; three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and sister, Anna Gibbs of Klemme.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
