SCHULER - At her home in Garner Sunday afternoon Dec. 13, 1903, Mrs. Julia Ann Schuler.

Funeral service will be held at the German M. E. church this afternoon.

Julia Ann Hasley was born at Eberfeld, Germany, Nov. 1833. She came to the United States with her parents in 1847 and settled at Galena, Ills.

In 1852 she was married to Rev. Chas. Schuler at Galena, Ills. Her husband was a minister of the German M. E. church and for nearly thirty years they labored and endured all the hardships and privations of a pioneer Methodist minister in the early days of Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa.

In 1880, her husband on account of his health retired from ministerial work, and with their children came to this county and improved a farm in Garfield township.

There were born to them seven sons and four daughters of whom six boys and two girls are living.

Mrs. Schuler was a loving wife and mother and fulfilled every duty of life to her best ability. She was a faithful follower of her loving Savior Jesus Christ and died strong in the faith that death would only be a change from her earthly to her Heavenly home,

For the past year her health had been failing but she was able to be up and around her home most of the time. The messenger came when least expected by her family. The immediate cause of death was Alburminuria.

Mrs. Schuler was an only sister of J. M. Hasley of Garfield township.
