After a few weeks of severe sickness, Mrs. G. M. Patrick died at her home in this city on Tuesday, December 29, 1903, at 9:30 o'clock in the evening.

Maria Merryman was born at West Port, Indiana, April 3, 1851. She joined in with G. M. Patrick on September 6, 1866. By this union they had four daughters and five sons, all of the children now living except one son.

They came to Iowa in 1871 and settled on the farm adjoining town where they have since resided. The immediate cause of death of the late deceased was inflammation of the upper bowels, caused by an aggravated case of gall stones.

Industrious and hospitable, loving and dutiful, her friends and family mourn the loss of a good Christian woman and friend.

Services were held Thursday morning at the M. E. church, of which society she was a member.

Interment took place in the afternoon in the Evergreen cemetery at Britt.
