Buried at CorwithCorwith: Services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church in Corwith for Mrs. Frank Adreon. The Rev. Paul Williams delivered the message that was preceded by a prayer in the family home. Interment took place in the family lot in the Corwith cemetery.
Pearl Gouge was born June 4, 1893, at Johnson City, Tenn., a daughter to Elijah and Julia Garland Gouge. Her early education was received at that place and later at Pontiac, Ill., where she grew to womanhood.
On December 12, 1912, she was united in marriage to Frank Adreon, of Pontiac, Ill., the wedding taking place at the parental home. The couple followed the occupation of farming in that community for three years prior to moving to a farm near Corwith. They farmed in the Corwith community many years, until their retirement to a home in Corwith.
For the past four years Mrs. Adreon had been in ill health and had been hospitalized at various times. Two weeks ago she suffered a stroke of apoplexy and later was taken to the Hancock County Memorial Hospital at Britt where on Saturday afternoon she quietly slept away at the age of 60 years, 2 months and four days.
Nine children blessed the home of Mr. and Mrs. Adrian, and they with their father, mourn the passing of a wife and mother. The children are Mrs. Stanley (Irma) Garman, Mrs. Ray (Lurla) Fisher and Mrs. Charles (Roseland) Claude, all of Corwith; Glen, of Algona; Leon, Mason City; Phillip, Des Moines; Mrs. Walter (Rena) Claude, Garner; Dayton, in the U. S. Navy at Norfolk, Va.; and Allen with the U. S. Marines at San Diego, Calif. Also surviving are four sons in law, four daughters in law; 21 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild; four brothers; Lon at Wesley; David, Algona; Garfield, Cedar Falls; and Bernard, at Lindon Ind., as wells as other relatives.
