Ada Sweers 1894-1987

Services for Ada Sweers, 92, Britt, who died October 16, 1987 at the Westview Care Center in Britt, were held Monday, Oct. 19, 2 p.m., at the Christian Reformed Church in Britt with Rev. Verlyn Vandertop officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mrs. Ralph Tjaden, who accompanied soloist, Shirley Hasty, and the congregational hymns. Ushers were Dr. Gerald Dewaard and Harold Pommer.

Casket bearers were Herman Hinders, Ben Buss, Bill Butler, Herman Sweers, Ben Hinders and Ted Hinders.

Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Britt.

Ada Sweers, the daughter of Behrend and Gertrude Johnson Pannkuk, was born October 19, 1894 at Buffalo Center. She moved at an early age with her parents to Woden where she received her education. In 1911, her family moved to Titonka.

She was united in marriage with Herman E. Sweers at Titonka. The couple farmed southwest of Britt until they retired and moved into Britt in 1948.

Ada was a charter member of the Britt Christian Reformed Church and the Ladies Aid.

She is survived by a sister, Effie Butler of Estherville; two brothers, George and wife Dolores of Paradise, CA, and Ben and wife Gretchen of Manhattan, KA.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman on January 6, 1972; five sisters and three brothers.
