Services for Eugene F. Steenhard, 60, of Britt, who died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1987, at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Mason City were held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 5 at First Lutheran Church in Britt with Rev. James Mattson as officiant.

Mrs. Tom Buns, organist, accompanied a men's quartet, composed of Harold Boekelman, John Tegtmeyer, David Beech and Randy Gremmer. Ushers were Harold Sankey and Wayne Ditsworth.

Casket bearers were Maynard Holck, Dale Neilsen, Tim Missal, Daryl Heino, LaVerne Steenhard and Richard Kling.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Home in Britt.

Eugene Frederick Steenhard, the son of Claas and Alma (Missal) Steenhard, was born January 11, 1927 at Hampton. He graduated from Britt High School in 1945.

June 10, 1947, he married Margarette Prull at First Lutheran Church in Britt. Gene farmed northwest of Britt until the late 1950's, when he moved into town. He was employed by Sankey Sand & Gravel, Buns Construction and Johnson Trucking until ill health caused his retirement three years ago.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Britt.

He is survived by his son, Craig and his wife, Karlene, of Corwith; three granddaughters, Cari, Renee and Tina; his mother, Mrs. Alma Steenhard of Britt; and two sisters, Mrs. Delores Love and her husband, Wayne, of Belmond and Mrs. Marlys Stille and her husband, Jerry, of Lake Mills.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claas Steenhard and an infant sister, Darlene.
