David Beenken

David Allen Beenken was born on August 9, 1952, at Buffalo Center, Iowa, to Eugene Clair and Juniece Irene Spear Beenken. He graduated from the Titonka Consolidated High School in 1970, where he excelled in football. David then graduated from NIACC in Mason City, Iowa in 1972, where he received All-American Jr. College Recognition in football. He then attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. After his schooling, David farmed for a time with his father. David was married to Cindy Schmidt on July 21, 1973, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Titonka, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Titonka area. David also enjoyed working for Alphs Plumbing and Heating when he wasn't farming.

David was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Titonka, where he had served on the Church Council. He also belonged to the Titonka Coop Oil Board and the Titonka Elevator Board. David loved his family very much and enjoyed watching his children play sports, farming with his son and taking annual vacations with his family.

David died on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. He was 52.

David is survived by his wife, Cindy of rural Titonka, Iowa and his children, Shane Beenken and Kandice Beenken, both of rural Titonka. Also surviving are his mother, Juniece Beenken and his step father, Herbert Beenken, Titonka, Iowa, 2 brothers, Darrel Beenken and wife, Yvonne, Lake Mills, Iowa, Lee Beenken and wife, Becky, Titonka, Iowa and 4 step brothers, Paul Beenken and wife, Cheryl, Buffalo Center, Iowa, Ray Beenken and wife, Ann, Ft. Dodge, Iowa, Roy Beenken and wife, Julie, Farmington, Minnesota and Mark Beenken and wife, Lynn, Humboldt, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.
