ABSTRACTED OBITUARY from Forest City Summit, Jan. 8, 1959

Mrs. George A. Lester died at her home, south of Woden on Dec. 31, at the age of 71.

She was born in Shannon, Ill, the daughter of Herman and Kate Folkerts Wirtjes. Married Dec. 10, 1908 at Algona, Mr. Lester preceded her in death August 9, 1958, also a son, Lawrence Lester.

Survived by 4 children, Mrs. George (Alice) Schumacher of Austin, Mn., Mrs. Oscar (Leona) Sater of Austin, George Jr., U.S. Army, Long Beach, Calif., and Herman of Woden, 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services at St. John's Lutheran church with burial in Bingham township cemetery.
