Harm Freeseman, Jr.
1926-1988

Services for Harm C. Freeseman, 61, Britt, who died Tuesday, May 17, 1988 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, were held Friday, May 20, 10 a.m. at the Christian Reformed Church in Britt with Rev. Verlyn Vandertop officiating.

Music was provided by pianist, Peg Eisenman, who accompanied soloist, Larry Eekhoff, and the church congregation. Ushers were Harlan Eekhoff and Howard Denny.

Casket bearers were Jerry Anderson, Gene Eliason, Craig Betten, Jack Betten, Doug Betten and Rick Dosser.

Burial was at the Evergreen Cemetery at Britt with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Harm Clausen Freesemann, Jr., the son of Harm and Martha Scheibel Freesemann, Sr., was born September 26, 1926 on a farm near Britt. He attended the country schools and farmed with his dad. During World War II he served with the US Army. Following his discharge he returned to farming in the Britt area.

November 28, 1952, he was married to Lela Betten at Kanawha. The couple farmed east of Britt until 1988 when they moved into Britt.

He served as an Elder at the Christian Reformed Church where he was a member. He was also a member of the Britt American Legion Post #315.

He is survived by his wife, Lela of Britt; five daughters, Linda and her husband, Dale Hesley of Britt, Nancy and her husband, Allan Jurgens of Cheney, KS, Barb and her husband, Dennis Krueger of Sumner, Jane and her husband, Todd Greiman of Garner and Connie Freesemann of Ames; one son, Rich and his wife, Bonnie of Britt; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Louise and her husband, Lewis R. Anderson of Crystal Lake and Martha and her husband, Gene Austin of Crosby, MN; a brother, Rudolph and his wife, Pauline Freesemann of Britt.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.
