Died Wednesday Night Of Last Week; Came To Hancock 1915

Funeral services for Mr. C. J. Franklin, 64, were held Saturday afternoon at the Wellemeyer Funeral home in Klemme and burial was in Ellington township cemetery. Mrs. Franklin died Wednesday evening May 10, after an illness of approximately one and one-half years. She was a patient at the University hospital in Iowa City a year ago this spring and returned there again in February of this year for further treatment and remained until April 7 when she returned to her home where she passed away.

Mr. and Mrs. Franklin moved to Hancock county in 1915 from Joliet, Ill., and lived for a number of years on a farm east of Concord township cemetery and also north of Garner. They are parents of four sons, Floyd with whom they had been living for sometime; George of Nora Springs, who is now employed in Alaska; Ernest of Milwaukee, Wis.; and Charles of Mason City. These four sons and her husband survive.

Mrs. Franklin was born April 16, 1880, at Frankfort, Ill., and was married to Mr. Franklin at Joliet, Ill. She was a member of the Evangelical church of that city.

While living in this community, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin were members of the South Garner Community club.
