Rites for Arthur Folkerts held in Crystal Lake.

Funeral services for Arthur G. Folkerts, 48, long time resident of the Crystal Lake area, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist church in Crystal Lake. The Rev. Stanley Weirson officiated, with burial in Evergreen cemetery at Britt.

Casket bearers were Richard Larson, Harvey Hagen, Robert Brunsvold, Richard Thompson, Galen Wooge and Gary Prescott. Jeanette Rogness was organist, and the Rev. Robert Hefty, soloist. Flowers were arranged by Mrs. Alfred Champion and Mrs. Elmer Hrubes.

Mr. Folkerts died Tuesday night at Forest City municipal hospital following a heart attack suffered at his home.

Arthur Garland Folkerts, son of Jake and Theona (VanDusseldorp) Folkerts, was born Mar. 28, 1924, at Kanawha. He had been baptized and confirmed in the Methodist faith.

Mr. Folkerts was educated in rural schools near Britt, and married Lois Heggen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Heggen, May 19, 1946, in the Heggen home. The couple established their home on a farm near Crystal Lake.

For the past four years Mr. Folkerts has been employed by Winnebago Industries, Inc. He was interested in sports and horses, and was a member of the Trail Riders club.

Survivors include his wife, Lois; his son, Larry, and Larry's wife Trudy; daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Judy) Swanson; son Randy at home; his mother, Mrs. Theona Folkert of Britt; two grandchildren, Larry John Folkerts and Terase Kay Swanson; two sisters, Mrs. Hellen Putzstuck of Britt and Mrs. Dale (Pauline) Rapp of Renwick; and nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother-in-law, Edward Putzstuck.
