Services for Mrs. Esther Fisher, 89, of Britt, who died Friday, June 15, 1990 at Westview Care Center in Britt, were held 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 18 at the United Methodist Church in Britt with Rev. Dennis Bailey as officiant.

Mrs. Tom Buns, organist, accompanied, soloist, Gene Guenther. Ushers were Gilbert Guenther and Harry Smith.

Casket bearers were CIiff Howlett, Jr., Dave Howlett, Steve Fisher, Kurt Howlett, Gary Jeffries and Dan Dick.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Britt. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Britt.

Esther Christina Fisher; the daughter of Julius and Isabelle (Anderson) Hartwig was born August 9, 1900 on a farm in South Dakota. She received her education in the schools of South Dakota. In 1915, she moved with her family, to Milwaukee, WI. February 19, 1920, she was married to Ralph Fisher at her brother, Glenn Hartwig's home in Milwaukee, WI. They moved to Eagle Grove, where they farmed until 1931, when they continued farming south of Kanawha. In 1948, they moved to a farm near Hutchins, where they farmed until her husband's death in 1963. Esther continued to live on the farm until 1975, when she moved into Britt. She enjoyed her family, friends and caring for her garden.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, U.M.W., Britt Senior Citizens, Grandmother's Club, Charity Rebekah Lodge, Neighborhood Club and had sung in the Farm Bureau Chorus.

She is survived by her children, Mrs. Mildred Howlett of Britt; Donald Fisher of Boulder, CO; and Harold Fisher and his wife, Loretta of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and her sister, Mrs. Emma Schroeder of Britt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Fisher; her son, Glenn Dale Fisher; her granddaughter, Edythe Howlett; her parents; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mary Jane Fisher; her son-in-law, Clifford Howlett; a sister, Mrs. Eva Peterson and four brothers, Glenn Hartwig, John Hartwig, Ralph Hartwig and Oliver Hartwig.
