Sanford Rites to Be Conducted in Corwith Methodist Church

Corwith - Mrs Olive Sanford, 72, resident of the Corwith community for 60 years, died Saturday morning at her home in Corwith after a lingering illness.

Olive Gray, daughter of Jane and George Gray, pioneer settlers near Corwith, was born August 9, 1869, in DeWitt county Ill. She came with her parents to a farm southeast of Corwith in 1881 and except for three years in Illinois had lived in and near Corwith since.

She was married to George Sanford in 1896. They made their home on a farm south of Corwith until 1916, when they moved to the home in Corwith. Mrs. Sanford was the mother of two sons, one of whom died in infancy. The other son, Earl, died in 1936 and Mr. Sanford died 12 years ago.

Surviving are the daughter in law, Mrs. Retha Sanford; three grandchildren, Edna, Bonnie and Richard Sanford, and three brothers, Charles Gray of Corwith, L. H. Gray of Waterloo and W. A. Gray of Clarion.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday at the Methodist church, the Rev. A. J. Barkley officiating.
